KIND MIND KAI LTD is a social enterprise that was developed as a grassroots initiative to meet the emerging need for individuals, communities, schools and organisations to build greater awareness - and give effect - to transformative bicultural partnerships in Aotearoa.

Every time people use our services or attend workshops, a portion of profits is passed on in the form of resources or services (consulting, projects, workshops, partnership support) to support bicultural partnerships and kaupapa Māori initiatives.

Check out some of our Partnership Projects here! And do reach out if you have ideas about how we can support organisations, communities, and groups.

Papa Kupu - Tākaka Primary School

Kind Mind Kai has purchased a class set of Māori Language Dictionaries for He Puawaitanga Tuakana (Bilingual hub senior students).

With the help of Poi Princess (check out their amazing range of educational resources to support Te Reo in schools, centres and at home), the papakupu will be winging their way to TPS tamariki in a few weeks.

Rauemi - Golden Kids Early Learning Centre Inc.

$500 of the proceeds from our May workshop have gone towards purchasing rauemi (resources) for tamariki at Golden Kids.

Golden Kids have shown huge commitment by ensuring that all of their staff have had the opportunity to attend a workshop. We can't wait to see what they order!

Papa Kupu - Tākaka Primary School

Reo revitalisation is happening, and Kind Mind Kai is supporting that directly.

Contributions from the first workshop purchased a set of quality, hard-backed papakupu (dictionaries) for the pēpi teina and teina bilingual classes at Tākaka Primary Schoool, along with some incredible visual posters for their classrooms.

We are committed to ensuring that profits of these workshops continue to support Te Ao Māori in homes, schools, and communities, and are liaising with Manawhenua as to how we might do this from here on in.

So thank you, ngā mihi, for showing up, for investing, for committing. Your presence matters, and your presence has more impact than you might think.

Service Donation (Consultation) - Aperture - A one-woman play by Martine Baavinger

Martine reached out to Kind MInd Kai, seeking feedback and advice on how to ensure her play (on tour in Aotearoa in July 2021) could support the kaupapa of having conversations about racial equity, the impacts of colonisation, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Martine has committed to opening the floor for deeply honest conversations and sharing after each performance, and has also framed the play by sharing her journey as Tauiwi, and what has changed for her as she has learned more about Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the impacts of colonisation on Tangata Whenua.

Martine is now taking this opportunity for conversations around Aotearoa.
